Holy Spirit Reminded:
Any of you who follow
Christ struggle with forgiveness because the self gets in the way. But because
the heavenly Father forgives , you need to learn to forgive. Jesus does not
ask you to forgive another’s behavior. When you start to dwell upon the actions
and hurts of others have caused you, pride steps in. You will feel injustice
and become angry and critical. This will not allow forgiveness. So, God asks
you to avoid any false pride that does not forgive and replace it with His Son.
Then, forgive the essence of others. They began like you, made in the image of
the Father. So forgive them for seeing evil as so attractive. Forgive them for
not knowing. Forgive because Christ forgives. Let the true Savior judge their
behavior. Your task is to learn to love them and their potential, what they can
become.
Prayer: Lord, help me to begin
this New Year with the kind of forgiving attitude that most honors you.
