Must you come close to Death, really believe you are dying and leaving this earth before you can resign your will and truly say: “God’s will is my will; not my will but yours be done”?
There are many deaths in the pilgrim’s life. Die to the false self that wants only what it wants. Die to the material blessings--give them away. Die to anything that separates you from the growth-love of the Father. Be in the world but not of the world.
