God’s Different Wills
Does God have just one will? If so, does
it have, at least, various potentials?
Initial
will:
“If
anyone choses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from
God or whether I speak on my own.” [Jn.7:17, NIV]
Situational
will:
“ . . . Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God. . . This man was handed over to you by God’s set
purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to
death . . .” [Acts.2:22-23, NIV]
Final
will:
“To
him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious
presence without fault and with great joy” [Jude 24, NIV]
Through all of the Father’s wills, he
wraps His Spirit around us and keeps us forever.
