One
Beginning
“The twelve
apostles called all the disciples together and told them, ‘It’s not right for
us to give up God’s word in order to distribute food’. So, brothers and
sisters, choose seven men whom the people know are spiritually wise.” [Acts
6:2-3, GWT].
This may be one of the first strong examples when the
scripture indicates a separation between spiritual activity and materialistic
action for church leaders. It may be some precedent where we get the idea of
having staff people in church.
