"Resentment, envy,
anger, or fear can throw up roadblocks to compassionate growth. Compassion must
start with other-centered thought. Practice taking one day every week and do
something nice for everyone you meet. Say a kind word; give your time or money;
smile; and do some good action. Avoid expecting any thanks in return. Extend
the action to two days. Stretch the days so your goal happens every day of the
week. Blessed are the merciful."
Prayer: Lord, help any passion I have turn to
compassion when needed.
