Reflect
Before Speech
There are really three stages when talking to someone.
1.
Inclination. A person gets a thought or
impulse to say something.
2.
Reflection. A person mentally investigates what is about
to be said.
3.
Expression. A person initiates talking and
verbalizes the thought idea.
Unfortunately, too many move from inclination to
expression and leave out the stage to give proper consideration and reflection
as to what is about to be spoken.
“There
is one who speaks like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise
promotes health.” [Prov.12:18, NKJV].
