Openness to Believers
“Therefore
confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be
healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective,” [James
5:16, NIV].
It is difficult today to know who and
where to make any formal confession.
But I do think part of the intent of
this scripture is to encourage believers to be open and honest with each other.
Sometimes that is painful but also necessary.
We should also do honesty with a prayerful
attitude, not one of condemnation or corrective goals. Leave sin forgiveness in
the hands of the Holy Spirit.
