Soul Sick June 30

 

    

        The writer of Hebrews talks about God’s ability to rightly divide the soul, spirit, and body. The soul is still that free will in you. The spirit vibrates as life force embedded in humans by the Creator and makes up what is uniquely you. The emotions may be associated with spirit or soul, but the soul is an individual’s volitional power. The body is the house, the living quarters of spirit and soul. The soul creates your ability to choose as a Self. Then your spirit houses your true essence, the underlying authentic you. God’s Spirit joins with your spirit to grow his will in your salvation reality. Many today are still soul sick because they have been too willful, choosing self-will as survival over everything else.

 

Prayer: Father, I may not fully understand your design for me, but I genuinely want to know my complete essence and follow your purpose.

 

Three in One June 29

 

               

                When scripture says you should love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind, you must understand each as a potential strength of the other. The heart stands for emotion and all hidden streams of personal life. The soul refers to the self, that willful decision-maker, the part that can give or take. The mind has to do with your perspective and full intellect that leads to understanding and moral intelligence. Combining them shows your true essence, your spirit, who you essentially are, like no other. Keep a balance.

 

 

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me understand the short and long-term implication of every part of my being.

Freedom June 27

 

 

        Just know that one important aspect of freedom suggests you do not have to view Jesus like some scholar theologian. There are certain Christians you can trust. But while a correct spiritual agreement can be acceptable, you do not have to see Christ exactly as the preachers of old, what someone just tells you, or what may be written in popular books. The Holy Spirit can guide you how the disciples and writers of the Book viewed life. The scripture presents the Kingdom truths, and Holy Spirit filters them through your personal well-being because He meets your specific need. But you must pay attention. God may speak to you from the Bible or some other place of truth. All truth is still His.       

 

Prayer: Our Father, raise my awareness so I’m looking for your Kingdom truth and action in all I experience.

Special Emotion June 26

 

            When you feel praise rising up from somewhere deep within, God may be giving devotion to you, combining with your feelings to enrich a peculiar moment of awe and wonder. A resulting thankfulness may be for great or small. What truly matters is that heavenly Father has connected.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Father, for the Spirit that moves up within even when I’m not thinking good thoughts.

Divine Light June 24

 

       

        There are persons who do not want to hear the Truth because their deeds will be exposed. Scripture says they would flee the light. However, persons who move toward the light, while you may disagree with them, may be working through something you know nothing about. Leave them alone. Spend your compassion and concern on those who place value on their darkness too much and run away from heavenly light.

 

Prayer: Lord, always keep me searching and looking into your light.

 

Violence June 23

 

       

        “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world my servants would fight . . .” John 18:36. 

    Negative aggression or violence tends to be the response in the world for most wrong-doing. Negative violence is not the response in Jesus’s world. You are to forgive by showing mercy. Work to forgive all evil–doers --- not their behavior, for that is God’s realm of judgment. You must, however, forgive the part of them that knows not what they do. Forgive their broken humanity. Remember, once, you were in a state of unforgiveness as well.    

 

Prayer: Lord, help me remember that others may not experience the same things I do, but they need a Savior in the same way.

 

Maturity June 22

 

        

            Sometimes maturity shows itself as a kind of growth and the ability to postpone your own pleasure. Sometimes maturity registers as the wisdom to keep silent. At other times, mature wisdom may offer the right words. But all in all, your true maturity is couched in heavenly Father’s love. You can only be as mature as your responses to His kingdom challenges. For His Grace in a task gives birth to praise. Praise can be more maturing than just an emotional prayer. The right love and praise go together.

 

 

Prayer: Thank you Father for your unending love, laced with Grace.

Understanding June 21

 

       

        You need to know that there are times when, as your Savior, He simply guides and directs your actions rather than provides you understanding at the very moment. When you grow by living with the non-answers, you experience a stronger faith. Recognizing heavenly father’s reality to guide you even when you are unaware will enhance the quality of your trust. You can trust more your faith and faith more your trust.

 

Prayer:  Lord, increase my faith ability, especially when I am confused and do not understand.

June 17 Continue from June 16

 

 [PRACTICE Devotional Time] continued.

After reading a scripture slowly, move your thoughts toward God---like talking to Him with prayer. ASK: “God, what are you saying to me?” PAUSE for an answer. LISTEN.

Then say what you want to say to God. Remember, the subconscious mind wants to argue ideas. The Holy Spirit does not argue. He says, “thus says the Lord.”

Stay listening. Avoid interruptions. Holy Spirit will surprise you. [Rev. 21:5-7]

How to Practice Devotional Time June 16

 

Here is an often-missed truth: The smallest spiritual insight you gain on any given day means the day has not been wasted. Remember, Jehovah God is everywhere and everywhen.

Some success of your Christian character growth is directly measured by your devotional time spent.

Expect God to surprise you here. He loves surprises that stretch thought and action. Start your day with quiet thinking. Holy Spirit ideas will remind your thinking throughout the day.

Expect your faith to increase during this time. It will because this practice happens like you give God permission to lead. He gave us freedom to be right or wrong. He guides the right, which includes right thinking. Let Him lead. He has covered all the wrong with His Son.

 2 Timothy 3:16 will remind you. Then read other scripture you pick.

Practice letting Bible scripture read you! Sing or hum the scripture verse. Feel the difference from just reading it. Repeat until you feel a verse moving through you like the chill and thrill of some victory.

What Guidance? Jun.15

 

        Remember scripture says that lost people are blinded. The evil one of this world has blinded the eyes of the unbelieving. What does that mean? One issue means that circumstances alone do not form a person. One’s character and how one treats and perceives those circumstances gets lived out. Blinded individuals feel they are right because they perceive themselves as right. Since they believe they are right, they feel no need to listen to a different perspective. You cannot persuade them with reason alone. Evil has an intelligence that is part of the belief that thinks it’s right. Therefore, you need the power of the Holy Spirit to help break through the faulty thinking. The Holy Spirit combines reason and emotion to get the blinded person’s attention. Then, God breaks through with accurate, ultimate Truth.

Prayer: Thank you for the Spirit that guides us even when we are unaware of your presence.   

Great Things June 14

 

    Culture and even your church has impressed upon you to accomplish great things for God, the Father. But scripture indicates you start doing the unusual with the many details of ordinary life. All the mundane tasks, the common life struggles, the unappreciated activities need the flavor of appreciation, praise, and thanksgiving as much as the largest issues. Pay attention even when you are uncomfortable, the very unpleasant points to that precious life given to you. Should you love misery? NO! But find praise in life’s energy itself. Knowing God closely in the small helps to recognize heavenly Father in the large.

 

Prayer: Savior Jesus, you know I need special strength when discomfort of any kind occurs in my life.

 

Accepted Prayer June 13

 

        Is it not so that scripture has said to ask, and you will receive? But you are to ask in the kind of faith which means a trusting plea that can serve both the heavenly kingdom and your human frailty. When you connect with the Father through the Son, His hearing your prayer means it is answered. Things may not happen like you thought, but God is not a hesitant Savior or a reluctant God. He can make the right connections. Begging may mean you lack faith. Complete trust is needed. Leave your petition with God and trust like when you give your body to sleep with abandonment. Make your prayers a remembering, not a begging.

 

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me give prayer a remembering way and talk to you about every issue in life.

 

Maturity June 12

 

 The Holy Spirit said:

        "I could have taken only one dimension, one world, one lifetime, to create what was needed, but I designed two. There is still my reason for this world and the next. I give you eternal life as part of knowing you will not stop a kind of growth when you pass from this realm to the next. I give you the heart of truths for you to consider and mature in this dimension, and thus, you will be more ready for the next to come. You will see the connections then."

 

 

Prayer: Help me understand the spiritual principles behind this world’s challenges.

Divine Will June 11

 

 

        Trust seems so simple to the heavenly Host and yet, so difficult for you. But when you faithfully accept God’s will, joy may be found even through your difficulties. Do you have pain and yet no joy? Christ’s Love stays a swinging door that bumps both ways.  Trust in your established redemption.  Accept his joy, and practice getting through any irritability. There is a reason for your suffering you may never know. Endure in Jesus’ name. Remember: in the heavenly kingdom, the right joy and praise honors heavenly Father. A renewed human spirit can come from eternal joy when suffering. Think about this over and over and move beyond.

Prayer: Lord, I want to make time to meditate with you every day.

Silences June 10

 

        You need to make a choice. Design your life so you can pay attention to the silences. You live in an extremely noisy world. Work your schedule so you can listen to the silences, the spaces between the noises. The Holy Spirit will speak to you in the silences. It may appear as a ringing. It may be a gentle breeze. It may be a buzz. It may be just a feeling. It may be words. BE ALERT and LISTEN, so you really hear. The I AM is always with you.

 

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to speak less today and listen more.

A Share Economy Jun 9

 

        Try to avoid a web of collection. Life is too rich to get caught in keeping up with stuff. Share all. Try not to accumulate. To stockpile things in your life confuses a major principle of God’s kingdom.  Live to be a channel of giving for every gift, every talent, every bit of money, and every resource. Let them flow through you in ways that can enrich the kingdom. The risen Lord will supply your needs. Let abundance become what you only need to use, then pass the rest on to others.

 

Prayer: Help me use abundance in every gift of life you put before me to enrich your kingdom.

       

Frequent Meditation Jun. 8

 

 

        On many occasions, Jesus told us if we were thirsty to come to Him and drink. When the body craves water, it yearns for something it cannot do without. When your spirit dries out in drought, it craves a kind of moisture.  When you drink the Holy Spirit, He will indeed cause the living waters to flow through you and from you. But you have to say, “Make the connection.” Into your reason and emotions will rush the correct ways of the kingdom. Persistent meditation trains and conditions you to receive your spiritual drink and food.

 

Prayer: Lord, every day, go with me to that place flowing with your living waters.

 

Remember Jun 5

 

        What the Son of God reveals to you is a WAY of life and not just ideas. But in His kingdom, your physical thinking experience comes first, then follows stimulated, expressed reason from the Holy Spirit. As you think about the things of the Kingdom, like hope and trust, place them into your day-to-day routine. God gives you divine action within, as the Son responds to his own action on your behalf. Your partnership propels your calling which has divine behavior in human action.

 

 

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me understand and mold my conduct more clearly today.

Who Speaks? Jun. 3

 

 

        As you read and meditate on these words, remember who speaks to you.  Jesus and heavenly Father are one with you. Be not afraid but stay in the shade of the Almighty. Resting in that covering is your safe place. Walk with Him as a friend. He will never let you down even when you do not always understand.

 

 Prayer: Thank you Lord for being a Savior and a friend.

Eternally linked Jun.2

 

 

        Since you are connected to Jesus by divine will, who you are and what you do keeps an eternal link established. Can your lungs do without air? Can your senses do without response? Can your emotions do without love? Can your better nature live without beauty? Can your spirit do without truth?  Trying to feel complete without the Holy Spirit is like trying to drive a four-wheeled car on just three wheels.

 

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for revealing your Son who connects us completely to you.

 

Knowledge Jun.1

 

 

        You will know as much of Jesus as you are willing to put into practice. Often think of Him as your daily partner. Human impulse runs mostly on emotion. Emotion and reason feed intuition. Holy Spirit will work through your intuition. Action will become the result of your intuitive thinking.

       

 Prayer: Lord, help me to close the spaces today when I don’t think of you.
