The Virgin’s Kiss
During the bloody Inquisition, the
church fathers had an invention that was supposed to show a person’s guilt. It
was called the “Virgin’s Kiss” and was a statue that the victim was made to
kiss. As he or she did so, the image would enclose the person with arms that
had hidden in them some 50 knives that impaled the body. Death was the sign of
guilt.
“For
the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus
our Lord.” [Ro.6:23, NIV].
Satan is still a deceiver.
