Since we are allowed entrance
into the category of an “OUR” Father in prayer, we can usually accept heavenly
Father in his position.
But do we often say, “My Savior”, that personal
belonging of the Father’s Son and yet we should because He is ours and we his.
Why is it so important that
God be so personal? Because like family togetherness, we actually are never
alone. And there may be nothing lonelier than coming to the end of life by
oneself.
So, the designation of “Our
Father” embraces us with his love that never goes away, always grows with us,
remains inexhaustible, even at the very end. That may be one reason Jesus
himself said to pray like this.
“Our Father in heaven let
your name be glorified…”
