The Psalmist continues.
“…I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and
your staff they comfort me…” [Ps. 23]
The Holy Spirit can neutralize fear, the unknown, any
doubt as He has promised to reside within us and work with us.
The rod protects and deflects attackers. The staff can
protect but also supports, balances the walk, the journey. The hook on a
shepherd’s staff can draw one back from harm or redirect the head in the right
direction.
God stays ever with us and before us. Pay attention every
moment.
