In the beginning, the “Our
Father who is in heaven” of Mt. 6 is an appeal to the most glorious
One.
Now, “Your Kingdom come;
your will be done…” is a definite reason for the appeal and a request.
Jesus appeals to our heavenly Father and then prays down the Kingdom for us
all.
What is God’s will?
Because He Is love, He always wants and does what is best for all creation,
including every individual. His will is not good, his will is not better than
others, his will is the best!
Our understanding of the
best may lack enough wisdom, but one thing is certain: Like one author said, The
prayer that is always answered is God’s will be done.
