“…Hallowed be Your name…” [Mt. 6:9]
Jesus did not say give honor
to a god that might be there, nor hope he is there, or wish he was there. He
spoke to a Father [glory to your name] who was already in existence.
Every time Jesus spoke, he
was honoring heavenly Father as he honored himself. Yes, there is mystery here,
but also opportunity for faith on our part.
And the beauty is heavenly
Father is the glory of the universe as Creator. Again, we do not understand all
about an everlasting God, but we can accept his gracious invitations to remain
a part of his family, his kingdom. In so doing, we live the mystery of faith,
hope, and love that outshines any other system. And we can follow the Apostle
Paul in Col. 3:17.
