Feeling Scripture Feb.14

As we read any scripture, like the Psalms, we can feel them and make them our own.  Like Psalm 130, “O Lord, out of the depths I call you…”

So, we continue Jesus’ prayer of Mt. 6:11 with his appeal and then requests: “Give us this day our daily bread…”

Notice first part of Mt. prayer reminds us: His name “Our Father”, His kingdom “Heaven and earth”, His will “Will be done.”, all establish who God is.

This part of prayer says who we are “give us bread…”

After He speaks of heaven and earth, he reaffirms the physical, which for now, cannot be avoided. He reminds us that the physical continually needs sustenance. The request is not for abundance but for everyday source of need. We are involved with heavenly Father everyday with the natural things. Daily bread is also symbolic for daily life source.

We are to absolutely trust God will provide daily, every second, every minute, every hour. No matter the immediate circumstance. Why? Because that is Who He is! TRUSTWORTHY.
